Car Rental Discount

Avis is offering special discount rates for Convention attendees. To make a reservation with the discount, click here.

Convention Hotel Parking

The JW Marriott Washington DC only has valet parking. Overnight parking may be limited. No oversized vehicles.

  • Fee: $47.20 daily

Watch out for traffic: When traveling by car or shuttle, please be mindful that from 7-10 a.m. and 4-7 p.m., traffic in the region is very congested on the major roads around and inside Washington, D.C. Some routes that take 15 minutes during non-rush hour can take an hour or more during rush hour. Please allow plenty of time to get to your destination. If possible, try to avoid driving during rush hour.


 

 

Uber is your on-demand private driver. Request a ride at any time using their iPhone and Android apps or from m.uber.com. If you are not an www.UBER.com member, please sign up for an account using the Promotional Code “NAPABADC”.

Convention guests that are new users will receive a free $20 voucher for their first ride. If you are getting around the city with a friend, please have them sign up too. Each sedan can hold 3-4 people and you can share rides. Fares generally are 1.5x higher than a taxi on normal hours. In rush hours, they can be 2x a taxi fare, but the rides are nicer and much more reliable. The $20 new user voucher is the largest promotion they offer.


Amtrak Discount

Amtrak is offering a 10% discount off the lowest available rail fare to Washington, D.C. for Convention attendees from November 11, 2012 to November 19, 2012. This deal includes travel up to three days prior to the Convention start date and three days following the last day of the Convention.

To book your reservation, call Amtrak at 1-800-872-7245 or contact your local travel agent. Please refer to Convention Fare Code X85L-957 when making your reservation.

This offer cannot be booked over the internet. This offer is not valid on the Auto Train and Acela service. Offer valid with Sleepers, Business Class or First Class seats with payment of the full applicable accommodation charges. Fare is valid on Amtrak Regional all departures seven days a week, except for holiday blackouts.


MARC Train Service

MARC is a commuter train providing public transportation along four routes to Union Station in Washington, D.C.

  • The Penn Line of the MARC Train Service operates between the BWI Airport Train Station and Union Station in Washington, D.C.
  • MARC service runs Monday through Friday only.

Metrorail

The regional subway system, often referred to simply as “Metro.” It has five color-coded lines that intersect at various points: blue, green, orange, red, and yellow.

  • The Convention hotel is 0.5 miles from the Metro Center station, which is on the Red, Blue, and Orange lines.

Metrobus

Metrobus is the Washington, D.C., area’s regional bus service and connects to all Metrorail stations and feeds into other local bus systems around the region.


DC Circulator

The DC Circulator provides inexpensive, frequent service on five routes, including a route between Union Station and Georgetown (K St. & 14th St. stop is 0.4 miles from the Convention hotel), and a route between Woodley Park and McPherson Square (I St. & 14th St. stop is 0.05 miles from the Convention hotel).


Capital Bikeshare

Sign up for a 24-hour ($7) or 3-day ($15) membership. Then check out a bike from any of the 165+ stations across Washington, D.C. and return it to any station near your destination.

  • You can take as many trips as you like during your membership period, and the first 30 minutes of each trip are free. After the first 30 minutes, you will be charged an additional fee based on the rates here.
